Since Irwin EMC was formed in 1936, we have been dedicated to helping the people in our service area live better lives, not only with affordable electric power, but through our involvement in a number of important community endeavors.
Now with Operation Round Up, an innovative program that provides financial assistance to worthwhile activities and worthy individuals in our area, we can share a simple and rewarding way for Irwin EMC members to help support worthwhile activities in our communities.
Irwin EMC formed the Irwin EMC Foundation, Inc., in 2003 and started Operation Round Up in April 2004. The program gives customers a simple and rewarding way to raise money for charitable purposes. Irwin EMC as a corporation separately may continue to contribute funds to worthy causes. Operation Round Up is a way for members and Irwin EMC to combine their efforts to do even more for our communities.
How does Operation Round Up work?
If you participate, your monthly Irwin EMC bill will be automatically "rounded up" to the nearest dollar. For example, if your bill is $62.71, you'll pay $63.00, with 29 cents going directly into a special fund administered by the Irwin EMC Foundation Board. Members who participate will contribute about $6 each year--a small amount to help worthy causes in our community. It works out to be less than the cost of one soft drink a month. All donations are tax-deductible and members will receive a summary of contributions at year's end.
