Ira Tucker
I am Ira Tucker and a lifelong resident of Irwin County. I have been married to Holly Wiggins Tucker from Waterloo for over 35 years. We are blessed with two married sons, Bradley and Brooke Tucker of Virginia and Bryan and Addie Tucker of Irwin County. We have 6 grandchildren under age five.
I graduated from ICHS and attended ABAC and UGA. My degrees in math, agriculture, and education led me to having a career as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor in Irwin, Berrien, and Wilcox Counites. I also served as South Region Director for Agriculture Education with the Georgia Department of Education before retiring in 2021. I have continually farmed in Irwin County for 34 years. I also currently work part time at South Georgia Oil Distributors in Ashburn.
I have made an effort not to ask for votes without telling why I desire to serve on the Irwin EMC board. I seek to use my professional and personal experiences to make a positive impact on the communities served by Irwin EMC. If elected I will be a responsible steward of Irwin EMC’s resources while actively inquiring about issues that are important to all our members. I will represent the interest of all individuals, businesses and agriculture. I am equally dedicated to supporting our hardworking EMC employees and appreciate all they do to provide the services of our Irwin EMC. Therefore, I do earnestly ask for your vote in the upcoming director election.
